Розташовувався Бук в поле в районі хутора Бережись поруч із селищами Первомайське і Червоний Жовтень, південніше м. Сніжне. Місцевість на той момент контролювали терористи ДНР.
Перебував ЗРК «Бук-М1» на бойової позиції, з якою був здійснений запуск ЗУР з ранку до вечора 17 липня 2014. Екіпаж зенітно-ракетного комплексу «Бук-М1» - російські громадяни, які перебувають на дійсній військовій службі у ЗС РФ.
Наказ на запуск ЗУР надійшов з Генштабу ВС РФ, м. Москва. Випадково випустити ракету так само неможливо - в силу технічних особливостей пуску ЗУР (включаючи т.зв. «підсвітку» вже пущеної ЗУР).
Багато хто відразу ж вспомніют версію про те, що літак нібито збитий випадково, і замість нього планувалося збити український Ан-24 (26). Але в силу розрізняються ТТХ (розміри і силует планера, максимальна висота, максимальна швидкість) Ан-24 (Ан-26) і Боїнг-777 абсолютно неможливо сплутати.
Але чому саме рейс МН17? У цей момент в поле поразки ракети літало багато пасажирських літаків.
У точності за двадцять хвилин до цього - рейс Мюнхен-Делі «Люфтганзи», хвилиною пізніше рейс Копенгаген-Сінгапур «сінгапурських авіаліній». Але обраний був саме МН17.
План дуже продуманий. Для реалізації насамперед слід було виключити літаки авіакомпаній Росії, країн СНД, США, Німеччини, Франції, літаки всіх авіакомпаній, що летіли з східних і південних напрямків. Жертвою мав стати літак, що вилітав або з Варшави, або з Амстердама («столиця гріха» розклалася, Заходу, як люблять говорити російські). Катастрофа з літаком з Варшави неминуче дала б новий імпульс звинуваченнями кремлівського керівництва в систематичних терактах проти поляків. Тому залишався єдиний рейс, що летів 17 липня 2014 з Амстердама, - МН17.
Зазвичай його маршрут пролягав південніше. Російська влада перекрили 12 повітряних коридорів для того, щоб залишити пілотам єдино можливий маршрут L980, що пролягає в районі мм. Торез та Сніжне. Там його і чекав кваліфікований, тверезий, що виконував виключно накази свого безпосереднього військового начальства російський екіпаж ЗРК «Бук-М1».
Суть цього плану, в порятунку розвалюється «проекту Новоросія». Росія сподівалася отримати другий Крим, але отримала лише величезний опір української армії. Єдиний спосіб врятувати «проект Новоросія» від повного і остаточного розгрому - це зупинити бойові дії української армії на Сході України.
До 17 липня були випробувані різні способи: і військовий опір сепаратистів, і дипломатичний тиск. Цього виявилося недостатньо.
Знадобилося, новий засіб, здатне привести в шок європейську громадськість, - з тим, щоб вона, жахнувшись загибелі сотень своїх співгромадян, у тому числі дітей, відразу зажадала від своїх урядів чинити тиск на лідерів України, і за всяку ціну змусила б їх припинити бойові дії української армії на сході країни.
Після успішного проведення операції «Амстердамський рейс» почалося здійснення операції «Миротворець».
Після теракту головний автор операції «Миротворець» зв'язався з президентом США Обамою і, поінформував його про трагедіі.В наступні дні всі публічні дії автора (телефонні розмови з лідерами інших держав, публічні звернення, хвилини мовчання) були спрямовані на досягнення припинення бойових дій з українською сторони. У Європі та США почалася кампанія вимог, петицій, протестів з вимоги до своїх урядів «негайно зупинити бої в Україні». Це частково вдалося - П.Порошенко вже заявив про припинення бойових дій в радіусі 40 км від місця аварії МН17.
Багато звинувачували в трагедії сепаратистів, але проаналізувавши вищевказані факти, стає ясно, що їх просто підставили. МН17 був збитий не "Чорнухинського козаками» (40 км від місця, фізично неможливо). «Звіт Безлер» був переданий таким чином, щоб його запеленгувала СБУ і представила б світу, тим самим направивши пошуки винних насамперед за адресою «сепаратистів». Сам же Безлер був очевидно шокований виявили для нього фактом знищення рейсу - на відміну від спокою його московського ляльковода.
